Welcome to Rehabilitation Services of Greater Washington

RSGW was founded 27 years ago by two hand therapists, Sam Dovelle and Esther Rothman, interested in providing quality hand therapy to the Maryland community. The practice has fulfilled the needs of the community to also include physical therapy. RSGW has grown to include three clinics with six hand therapist and three physical therapists.

RSGW has maintained a commitment to promoting hand therapy services. This commitment to hand therapy has inspired the therapist to author a number of journal articles describing tendon and nerve rehabilitation protocols and orthotic design and fabrication. These articles have appeared in professional national and international journals. RSGW has also provided thousands of hours of education and training to civilian and military physical and occupational therapists, including the essential mentorship for certification in hand therapy (CHT) advancing the skillset and standards characteristics of the RSGW team.

RSGW has grown to meet the needs of the community, but continues to provide the same friendly, caring, and uplifting experience with treatment programs that suit the patient’s individual needs. RSGW incorporates evidence based on clinical and scientific research to design and implement their therapy programs. RSGW maintains close contact with referring physician’s, nurse case managers and insurance companies.

RSGW front staff are cordial, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They are able to assist with all insurance and third party reimbursers due to their many years of experience in medical/ therapy billing. This is the clinic that physician’s, physical and occupational therapists and insurance companies recommend to their patients in need of specialized hand care.
